A 33-year-old fake prophet, who claimed to be the General Overseer of Mountain of Liberation & Miracle Ministry, Liberation City, Dr Chris Okafor, was busted ‘in-the-act’ by church security.

The suspect, identified as Chuks Samson Obasi, who has been involved in illegal practice for several months, was finally stopped on March 9, 2014, Sunday.

The men from the security unit of Liberation City church were receiving some complaints from several people who were defrauded by the suspect.

On that fateful day, Obasi went to the church to collect money from another of his victim, but he has been busted and handed over to the police.

The suspect, who introduced himself to his victims as the Founder of Liberation City, told them that if they want him to go to their village that they must be ready to give certain amount of money, depending on their cases. Some members of the congregation felt this was not right, and the security branch of the church started to monitor the activities of the evil man.

The security operatives contacted Obasi in disguise as if they were the lady he was asked to come to makodo to collect the N20,000 agreed with the lady for the deliverance.

The fake prophet agreed for the meeting, but was apprehended by security operatives, because she reported on him.

Items discovered in his bag were two bottles of anointing oil, a bottle of crude oil, various ID cards, picture of his clients with various letters behind them. Obasi’s phone had pictures of him drinking in a beer house, though he confessed that he was an addicted drunkard.

During interrogations Chuks Obasi said he had started pretending a Man of God because his mother told him he was a special being and that God wanted to use him. He also narrated he was a poor man and this job helped him to make ends meet and to sustain his family.

The suspect confirmed he had defrauded a bit number of people pretending to be a popular man of God. However, he noted that if Nigeria was good he would have never started doing such hideous acts.

The suspect has been transferred to the police post at the Adogboluja area of Ogun.

2015: 'APC Is A Mix Up Of Toxins Bound For Disaster' – President Jonathan

Apparently referring to the opposition party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday said the party is a mix up of disastrous substances which is bound for destruction.
Speaking at the PDP North West Unity and Reconciliation Rally which took place at the Murtala Square, Kaduna, Jonathan said PDP only party and despite the gang up by some people, bringing two or three political parties together, PDP will surpass them.
“PDP is the only party that you can say ‘is for the people, by the people and of the people’. We have been told that some people are ganging up in some different names. I can assure you that this is not the first time that there has been a gang up. The gang up will fail.
“And I use to tell people that, if you put oil in a container, then pour kerosene in that container, then pour sulfuric acid in that container, you bring petrol and pour in that container and then hydrochloric acid, what do you think will happen to that container? -   Disaster!
“So the gang up will fail. It is just as you mix acid and other things in a container. It is not a new thing. They will continue to gang up, but will fail," he said.
According to Jonathan, PDP is the place to be as they are committed to being stable. He therefore urged the people to keep supporting the PDP.
The event was attended by Vice President, Arc. Namadi Sambo, the National Chairman of the PDP, Alh. Adamu Muazu, seven PDP governors among others  in a sea of unruly party supporters.

Members of the National Assembly from the North West Zone were also in attendance, including members of states Houses of Assembly from the zone.

Missing $20bn Story Takes New Turn As Jonathan Orders Audit Of NNPC

President Goodluck Jonathan has authorized a forensic audit of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

The Presidency said on Wednesday that "reputable international firms" would carry out the audit, but the companies' names were not disclosed.
The decision has followed the calls by the Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and a Senate committee investigating the graft allegations to conduct a forensic audit of NNPC after the Central Bank ex-governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi presented evidence that he said showed the company failed to remit $20bn of oil revenue to federal government coffers.
NNPC has repeatedly denied Sanusi's allegations, but has not responded until now to calls for an independent audit.
Sanusi, who was suspended by Jonathan on February 20 over allegations of misconduct, has rejected the claims against him, insisting he was removed for highlighting alleged widespread corruption in the oil and gas sector.
Former governor has asked a Federal High Court in Abuja to restrain the president, the Attorney General and the Inspector General of police from giving effect to his purported suspension from office.

Goodluck Jonathan's Cousin, Chief Inengite Nitabai was rescued today by a special anti-kidnapping squad of the Nigerian Police.

According to recent reports, the police has managed to set free the 70-year-old cousin of the President.
As it was informed earlier, Chief Nitabai was kidnapped 18 days ago, on February 23rd by 10 gunmen at Otuoke community, Ogbia Local Government, State of Bayelsa.
Police has revealed that no ransom was paid to rescue Chief Nitabai.
The details of the rescue operation and state of the President's cousin are yet to be revealed.
