5 Things About Your Period You Won’t Learn in School

article-2014925860953221930001. Your period makes you frisky.
Sure, you might have cramps and feel bloated. But because levels of the hormone progesterone — which is often blamed for dampening your libido — are at their lowest during your period, you may also be feeling like a horny 18-year-old guy. Which brings me to my second point…
2. s*x on your period is awesome.

For the married ones, s*x on your period isn’t gross — it’s great. Orgasming can help relieve cramps, back pain and other physical discomforts that accompany your flow. Concerned you’ll bleed everywhere? Chances are you won’t, but if you’re worried, just do what my best friend says — lay a towel down and get over it.
3. You can get away with indulging cravings the week before your period. Consider it nature’s karma for cramps and crankies. The week before your period drops, your body burns an extra 100-300 calories, so don’t feel guilty about that chocolate bar. In fact, if you’re like me and crave chocolate, it could be because it has magnesium, which you lose as estrogen levels start to dip.
4. Your periods can synch with your friends’.
OK, so this isn’t a concrete scientific fact — the theory is still debated — but if you’ve ever lived in a dorm or had female roommates, it doesn’t feel like a coincidence that you’re all reaching for tampons at the same time. It’s like your period wants its own period friends.
5. Not all tampons are created equal.
Speaking of tampons, don’t just settle for any tampon. Conventional, non-organic tampons may contain pesticide residue, not to mention bleach and dioxins, a carcinogen. Your vaginas deserve better than that, ladies.

Jonathan’s adoption, best thing to happen to Nigeria’

ILORIN—Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters to President Goodluck Jonathan, Senator Makanjuola Ajadi, weekend said the adoption of President Goodluck Jonathan as the sole candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2015 presidential election, was the best thing to happen to Nigeria as a country.
He spoke in an interview with journalists in Ilorin and claimed no party could defeat the PDP in the state, saying Kwarans would vote massively for President Jonathan.
According to him, “There is nobody who can defeat PDP in 2015 election. If it happens, do not call me Senator again, remove Senator from my name because it would not happen. Tell me who are the people remaining in Kwara APC in Kwara State?”
Explaining the adoption of President Goodluck Jonathan by PDP as its sole candidate, Senator Ajadi said,” the norms all over the world is that a sitting President has the first option of refusal, in fact other political parties should emulate PDP in the future. Anywhere, a serving president is always given the first option of refusal. It is only when that President refuses that alternative would now be looked into. It is one of the best things that has ever happened in the political development of Nigeria.
Everybody knows all over the world that sitting Presidents are always given the first option of refusal to re-contest. Are we saying, we are still blind and we cannot see what is going on all over the world? This is a lesson for all other political parties in Nigeria to emulate in future. If anybody is on seat and he is performing well and he is willing to go for second term, it should be automatic ticket as it happened to President Jonathan.”
