Ever since the 2014 National Honours List was released last week, many have questioned why late Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh was not included on the list.
A lot of people expressed opinions that
Adadevoh, who lost her life to Ebola during the process of taking
measures to curb the spread of the disease, should have been included on
the list because of her selfless actions.
However, Doyin Okupe,
Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to President Jonathan
revealed reasons for the non-inclusion via twitter, stating that
national honours are not given posthumously:
