You are no lion, you are a woman’s puppet’ – Governor Amaechi Replies Mbu

‘You are no lion, you are a woman’s puppet’ – Governor Amaechi Replies Mbu
Following a statement by former commissioner of police in Rivers state and outgoing commissioner of police of the Federal Capital Territory (F.C.T), Joseph Mbu on Monday, September 15, 2014 where he described himself as a lion who tamed a leopard in Rivers state, apparently referring to Governor Rotimi Amaechi, the Rivers state governor has come out to downplay the statement, saying Mbu was nothing but a puppet who was doing the bidding of a woman. In a press statement in Port Harcourt through his chief press secretary, David Iyofor, governor Amaechi referred to Mbu as a puppet, who lacks the steel and strength of a lion.
Iyofor said: “It is very sad, pathetic and ironic that Mbu called himself a lion. Which lion? This character called Joseph Mbu completely lacks the courage, steel and strength of a lion. Rather he is a puppet.
“This is a man paid by taxpayers to protect, secure and serve the interests of the people, but, when he was in Rivers State, he spurned the people, trampled on the masses and rather elected to be the partisan servant of one person, in causing disaffection, confusion and crises in Rivers State. Mbu shamelessly and corruptly turned himself into a toothless attack dog to fight the government and people of Rivers State.”
He continued: “Mr. Mbu, no lion behaves like that. You are a disgrace and shame to the Nigerian Police Force.”
He further stated that Mbu is an epitome of everything that was wrong with the Nigerian police, saying that Mbu not only disobeyed the inspector general of police during his stint in Rivers, but also behaved like “a man who was above the law and in fact, turned himself into the law.
