Your laptop screen is not the best medium for watching movies on,
unless you enjoy squinting at a cramped display, of course. Thankfully,
piping digital media - online and off - to your TV has never been
easier, so whether you're looking for the right cable to physically
connect your laptop and TV, or you want to investigate wirelessly
streaming content to your television, you've come to the right place.
What do I need to connect my laptop to my flat-screen TV?
All
flat-screen TVs offer at least one HDMI port on the back for connecting
to external devices, and the same is true for practically all laptops
manufactured in the last five or six years. HDMI is by far the best
cabled solution available because not only does it support Full HD (and
beyond) signals, but you only need one cable to carry both video and
audio from your laptop to your TV.
You could spend a small fortune
on expensive HDMI cables, but the truth of the matter is that for HD
video transmitted from your laptop, any HDMI cable will do. Lindy is just one company that manufactures a wide range of cables of varying lengths at affordable prices. The simplest and best way of physically connecting your laptop to your TV is via HDMI
How do I connect my MacBook to my flat-screen TV?
MacBook
Airs and MacBook Pros ship with Thunderbolt ports that double up as
Mini DisplayPorts. If you want to connect this to your TV you'll need a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter. If you'd like greater flexibility, then try Lindy's Mini DisplayPort to HDMI/DVI/DisplayPort Adapter instead. In either case you'll also need a separate HDMI cable (see above). You'll need an adapter in order to hook up your MacBook to your big-screen TV
What cables do I need for older laptops and TVs?
If
you don't need HD video - if you're connecting up to an older CRT
television, for example - then the best option is to use the S-Video
port. It doesn't provide HD quality, and only carries the video signal,
so you'll also need to hook up a separate audio cable - typically from
your laptop's 3.5mm headphone jack - to the audio inputs on your TV.
Your
TV will need one of two things: either separate S-Video and phono audio
ports, typically found on the front of the TV, or a SCART socket found
on the back. You'll then need to purchase an S-Video cable of suitable
length such as this 2m cable. If necessary, purchase a SCART adapter to connect both sets of cables to your TV. You'll need separate cables for audio and video if connecting via analogue ports
What's the alternative to S-Video?
As
analogue technologies become depreciated, modern laptops increasingly
ship without an available S-Video port. If this is the case, you'll need
to use the laptop's VGA port instead. This is a practical solution if
your flatscreen TV has a VGA port included – a standard VGA cable coupled with an audio cable (see above) will be sufficient. You may even be able to view HD content this way.
If you're trying to hook up to an older analogue TV, however, then it becomes less feasible. You'll need an expensive VGA to TV Converter box that costs almost as much as a budget HD Ready 19-inch TV with the required VGA port built into it. Older laptops should offer at least one analogue video option - usually S-Video or VGA
How do I connect my laptop to my TV?
Connecting
your laptop to your TV with the right cable is often only half the
battle. You also need to switch your TV to the correct input, and
configure your laptop or MacBook to re-route its display through the TV.
This may happen automatically, but if it doesn't - or you want to
configure the display differently - read on.
PC laptop users
should be able to cycle through the available display options using a
special function key in conjunction with the Fn button. Keep pressing
this to cycle between laptop display only, TV only, and laptop and TV
together. Alternatively, right-click the desktop in Windows 7 or 8 to
select Screen Resolution. From here you'll be able to manually detect
and select your TV's display.
MacBook users can configure the
display via System Preferences: select Displays followed by the
Arrangement tab (click Detect Displays if it's not present). Tick Mirror
Displays to put your TV perfectly in sync with your MacBook's display
as opposed to acting as an extension of it. Determine what's shown on your TV screen using Windows' Display Settings
Can I connect my laptop to my TV without wires?
There
are plenty of options for wirelessly beaming video from your laptop to
your TV. The most expensive options involve purchasing a Wireless HDMI
sender and receiver kit such as ZyXEL's Whd6215 four-port Wireless HDMI Kit, but this is more aimed at wirelessly transmitting between different rooms.
It's
actually more cost-effective to investigate streaming media wirelessly
over your network to your TV via DLNA/UPNP. Most modern Smart TVs are
capable of directly accessing media in this fashion - all you need to do
is turn your laptop into a media server following our advice in this
article - but even if your TV doesn't sport Smart capabilities, the cost
of buying a suitable set-top media player like the WDTV Live Streaming Media Player
is much less than going down the wireless HDMI route. It also allows
you to add other smart features to your TV like BBC iPlayer and YouTube.
Apple aficionados may prefer to go with the Apple TV,
but while it works flawlessly with iTunes and your Apple mobile
devices, it's less flexible with non-Apple equipment. Unless you're
wedded to all things Apple, we'd suggest investigating the UPNP/DLNA
solution instead.
If you're looking for specific components for a repair, try eBay
Wondering how to repair a broken laptop? We're going to crack open
three common laptops; a netbook, an older gaming laptop and a modern
Intel model.
In the process we're going to take a look at just
how we got inside, how easy it is to remove cases and components and
once inside just what you can do in there.
From replacing dodgy
audio and data connections, to upgrading or replacing damaged parts. By
the time you've read this guide no longer should you be afraid to open
up your laptop.
Like any epic quest you'll need the help of some
trusty companions. The most important is a good precision screwdriver
set. We picked up a cheap 11-piece set from a large yellow DIY store for
£8. To shift firm screws a set of pliers is useful for giving a little
more purchase to your screwdriver.
For soldering duties a
soldering kit including a stand and helper will also be required, these
cost around £15 from eBay. A well-lit, clear work space is also
advantageous.
Somewhere you can store all the parts you remove
and containers for the many, many tiny, easily lost screws laptops seem
to produce. With all of that to hand let's start our teardown.
How to repair your netbook
Starting small seems like a good idea to us and our first Dexter-style
victim is a trusty netbook. This is an ideal place to start as the
construction and internal components are at a minimum, reducing the
internal clutter and confusion, plus it provides a perfect way of
getting to know the basic insides of a laptop before we move on to more
complex models.
The first thing to do is disconnect this thing
from the mains and remove the battery. This makes sure the damn netbook
isn't going to try and spring back into life as we're poking around
inside it. The other reason is that many models hide securing screws
within the battery bay, so we need to poke around in there anyway.
Before
attempting any teardown it's worth stepping back and assessing how the
land lies. For us this means checking to see what screws are clearly
visible in the base, flexing obvious areas to see if they look like they
will un-clip and trying to spot screws hidden behind rubber feet or
stickers.
The first job is to remove all the visible screws.
Gentle stripping
We
suggest having some sort of system for storing the screws. We tend to
try and place them on the bench in a mirror of where they were unscrewed
from. You could take a piece of A4 and draw an outline of the laptop
and place the screws in the corresponding position on the paper.
We
do that as there's such a varied mix of sizes it saves trying to
remember and guess where they should go. Alternatively you could sling
them all into various tupperware pots, we just hope you have the kind of
mind that can remember where they all go!
If there are any
access panels these will also need to be removed , but this is more of
an issue with laptop models. Often on netbooks this simply isn't the
case, they're not designed to be upgraded in this way, which is another
good reason for performing a teardown. So you know just how to replace
the hidden internals.
With all the visible screws out of the way
it's time to start teasing off the bottom of the netbook's chassis.
There are dedicated pry tools for this usually made from plastic, though
small flat-head precision screwdrivers work as well. Be as gentle as
possible at this stage, the main thing is to check for any hidden screws
that can often be hiding in the case.
Once the main back has
been removed as, you'll see for the other models, netbooks effectively
come in two main pieces: the base and the display. Usually you won't
want to detach the two unless you're performing a screen replacement but
they will always come apart in two stages: the first being the
electrical connections and the second being the physical hinge.
Delving
further than this into a netbook is a case of continuing to remove
visible screen and cable connections, the next main piece being the
motherboard and with that out of the way you're done.
Dismantling an old friend
Armed with just a screwdriver and our cunning 01. Start with the screws We'll
start with removing all the screws. Switching to your finger tools see
how amenable the bottom of the case is to being removed, in this case
the bottom pretty much fell off. Normally
you'll need a small flat-head driver to carefully un-clip the loosest
area of the case and take it from there. Keep an eye out for screws
hidden behind stickers or rubber feet. 02. Look at what you've done Often
this is as far as you'll need to venture as you have access to all the
main components including the hard drive, memory expansion, wireless
mini-PCI-e module, cooling module and backup battery. For keyboard and
touchpad repairs, screen replacements and motherboard repairs you have
to venture further. First, taking a photo for reference. 03. Getting sticky There
will be a lot of tape holding various wires and components tidily in
place. You'll need to remove all of these, which is why a reference
photo will be handy when putting everything back. Some
removable components, such as the hard drive or wireless module will be
screwed into place. It's likely these will need to be removed if you
want to remove the mobo. 04. The screening process The last major component to go is the screen. On most models this is firmly held in place by a screw beside each hinge. On
top of this you'll find a number of cables going into the screen that
carry the power, the video data, any wireless antenna that are embedded
in it, plus data cables for webcams or mics. Undo and unplug these and
the screen should come away. 05. Get your mother out The
keyboard, touchpad, speakers, chassis, LEDs and other sensors, such as
Bluetooth adaptors will trail cables to the top and bottom sides of the
mobo.
The ribbon connectors usually flip up; older types have a
pull up section. You'll often find the keyboard ribbon awkwardly
connects to the underside, you may have to yank the mobo away from this.
06. Keyboard popping Keyboards
are usually stronger than they look as they are designed to be highly
flexible. The main issue is trying to work out if they're designed to be
removed from the outside or from inside. Often if you look along the
top row of keys you can spy tabbed areas to insert a flat-head
screwdriver and pop them out. With this model it had to be popped from
the rear.
A
data connection on your Windows Phone can go a long way to enhancing
your productivity while on the go. But it can't meet all your needs at
all times. Sometimes you need your laptop. While there's no shortage of
Wi-Fi hotspots these days, there isn't always one available when you
need one. In those instances, you can use your Windows Phone as your own
personal mobile Wi-Fi hotspot by sharing your phone’s internet
connection. Here’s how. NOTE: This guide applies to Windows Phone 7.5, 7.8 and 8.
How to Enable and Configure Internet Sharing
In order to use your Windows Phone as a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot and
share your internet connection, you'll need an active data connection.
Our previous article How to Connect to Data Networks & Wireless Networks on Windows Phone
shows how to enable the data connection on your Windows Phone 7 device.
For Windows Phone 8, we will provide a separate article sometime in the
future.
To access Internet Sharing, tap Settings.
Then, tap internet sharing.
Switch the slider from Off to On. Activating Internet Sharing will automatically turn on your device's Wi-Fi.
Tap setup to configure your Internet Sharing.
You can set the Broadcast name for the Wi-Fi network and the
password that will be used to connect to it. Tap on any of the items to
change them. To save your changes, tap the Checkmark. To exit without saving, tap the X or the Back button on your phone. Differences between Windows Phone 7.5 and Windows Phone 8:
Even the process for turning on internet sharing is the same in both
versions, there are some small differences you might notice. First,
Windows Phone 8 allows for up to 8 guests, instead of 5. Windows Phone
7.5 on the other hand, allows you to set the kind of security you want
for the Wi-Fi connection. In Windows Phone 8 you are not allowed any
choice. The Wi-Fi network is using WPA 2 encryption (the most secure at
the moment) and the wireless network is using the 802.11n standard.
How to Connect Your Laptop to the Wi-Fi Network
With Internet Sharing enabled on your Windows Phone, you can
now use it as a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot. Your laptop will detect will
detect the wireless network like any other. Select it from the list of
available networks and connect to it. If you need some help, we have
published two details guies, one for Windows 7 and one for Windows 8.
You can find them here:
How to Connect to Wireless Networks in Windows 7
Introducing Windows 8: How to Connect to Wireless Networks
On the internet sharing screen of your Windows Phone, you can verify how many other computers and devices have connected to the Wi-Fi you just created.
As a note, you will also be able to connect to the network other devices, including smartphones, not only your laptop.
Connected Anywhere
Using the Internet sharing on your Windows Phone device, your laptop
now has an Internet connection no matter where you are. No longer
reliant on dedicated hotspots, you can maintain connectability and
productivity at all times. The only downside is the cost charged by your
telecom provide for the data plan.
Using a mobile phone as a modem isn't a new feature
— in fact, many smartphones came and went before the iPhone had this
capability.
Tethering means you don't need a
Wi-Fi hotspot or a separate mobile broadband modem to access the
Internet on your notebook or PC. Your mobile phone or smartphone becomes
the modem and uses your network's 3G data service to connect to the
Internet.
Apple's launch of the 3.0 iPhone
software in June last year brought tethering to the attention of a
broader audience than previously. It used to be used mainly by corporate
road warriors, but the decreasing cost of 3G data and the increasingly
popularity of smartphones mean that tethering is now more appealing for
students, office workers and travellers.
An
iPhone can be used as a tethered modem when physically connected to a
computer with a USB cable or wirelessly connected via Bluetooth. Follow
our step-by-step guide to find out how:
1. Update your software
Before
attempting to tether your iPhone, you should ensure you've updated to
the latest iPhone software, as well as the latest carrier software.
Simply plug your iPhone into your computer, open iTunes and click the
"check for updates" button when the iPhone screen appears.
2. Activate tethering
In the iPhone's settings menu, tap General > Network > Internet Tethering. Slide the Internet Tethering switch to On.
3a Connect wired via USB
To
tether via USB, first connect your iPhone to your computer. For Windows
users, browse to your computer's Network services settings via the
Control Panel and choose iPhone. For Mac users (must be running Mac OS X
10.5.7 or later), a pop-up window will appear saying "A new network
interface has been detected". Click Network Preferences, configure the
network settings for iPhone, then click Apply.
Or: 3b Connect wireless via Bluetooth
In
the iPhone's settings menu, tap General > Bluetooth and slide the
Bluetooth switch on. Use your computer's Bluetooth menu (Windows: found
in Control Panel; Mac: System Preferences) to pair and connect the
iPhone to your computer.
5. Browse the Web
When
your iPhone is tethered a blue bar appears at the top of the iPhone's
screen with the message "Internet Tethering". Tethering remains on if
you connect with a USB cable even if you aren’t actively using the
Internet. Conveniently, you can still make and receive phone calls and
send and receive text messages while tethering.
Ensure
you have a large data quota to work with, as tethering uses much more
data than browsing the Web on your iPhone does. If you regularly use
tethering, we suggest a data allowance of at least 1GB per month.

BlackBerry has been
all but buried by its competition. Once a company that paved the way
for the smartphone industry, it now appears left behind in the
technological dust.
Just
this week, BlackBerry - which recently changed its name from Research
in Motion - revealed it is considering "strategic alternatives." That
opens the door for selling itself, either as a whole or perhaps in
pieces. So, how did an innovation giant turn into a dinosaur? - Failed
on the App frontier
Apple and Android devices makers invited app
designers to build programs for their handsets. Not so with BlackBerry.
"They wanted to kind of own the whole process," explains Santoli. That
has wound up costing the company dearly.
A major complaint about
BlackBerry devices in a lack of apps. Meanwhile, Apple's app store has
become a cash cow. Last year revenues topped $9-billion. By 2016 the
site could generate $22-billion annually.
Facebook
founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has put forth what he calls a "rough
plan" to bring the internet to the next 5 billion people (there are
currently 2.7 billion people online, or roughly a third of the world's
population).
Zuckerberg writes:
"For almost ten
years, Facebook has been on a mission to make the world more open and
connected. Today we connect more than 1.15 billion people each month,
but as we started thinking about connecting the next 5 billion, we
realized something important: the vast majority of people in the world
don't have access to the internet. Today, only 2.7 billion people are
online -- a little more than one third of the world. That is growing by
less than 9% each year, but that’s slow considering how early we are in
the internet’s development. Even though projections show most people
will get smartphones in the next decade, most people still won’t have
data access because the cost of data remains much more expensive than
the price of a smartphone.
"Below, I’ll share a rough proposal
for how we can connect the next 5 billion people, and a rough plan to
work together as an industry to get there. We'll discuss how we can make
internet access more affordable by making it more efficient to deliver
data, how we can use less data by improving the efficiency of the apps
we build and how we can help businesses drive internet access by
developing a new model to get people online. I call this a "rough plan"
because, like many long term technology projects, we expect the details
to evolve. It may be possible to achieve more than we lay out here, but
it may also be more challenging than we predict. The specific technical
work will evolve as people contribute better ideas, and we welcome all
feedback on how to improve this. Connecting the world is one of the
greatest challenges of our generation. This is just one small step
toward achieving that goal. I'm excited to work together to make this a
reality..."
The basic idea is that, in addition to the obvious
needs to build out more infrastructure, Zuckerberg argues that there's
more that can be done to reduce the amount of data used to transmit
information, making content and apps less burdensome on the
infrastructure.
"We believe it’s possible to sustainably provide
free access to basic internet services in a way that enables everyone
with a phone to get on the internet and join the knowledge economy while
also enabling the industry to continue growing profits and building out
this infrastructure. Today, the global cost of delivering data is on
the order of 100 times too expensive for this to be economically
feasible yet. The cost of subsidizing even basic services for free would
exceed many people’s monthly income and it would be extremely difficult
for the industry to build a profitable model. However, with an
organized effort, we think it is reasonable to expect the overall
efficiency of delivering data to increase by 100x in the next 5-10
years. This will come from two types of innovation: bringing down the
underlying costs of delivering data, and using less data by building
more efficient apps. If the industry can achieve a 10x improvement in
each of these areas, which we believe is possible, then it becomes
economically reasonable to offer free basic services to those who cannot
afford them and start to sustainably deliver on the promise of
connectivity as a human right. A key constraint here is to define which
basic internet services should have free data, and which require a data
plan. If we get this right, then it will be possible to enable the most
people to get on the internet while also sustainably generating the most
profits for the industry.
"There are a few factors that go into
our definition of basic internet services: Basic services need to be
non-data-intensive, which means primarily text-based services and very
simple apps like weather. Data-intensive experiences like video,
streaming music, high resolution photos, websites with media and large
files or app downloads consume the vast majority of all data. For
perspective, all of the text in this document is less than 0.1MB and a
30 second video can easily be 50-100 MB. Basic services also need to be
tools that people use to discover other content.
"These services
should have the property that by making data for them free, people will
discover more new content and use meaningfully more data than they would
have if they didn’t have access to these basic services. Services like
messaging, social networks, search engines and Wikipedia fit this
definition well, but we’re not prescribing any specific set of basic
internet services. Instead, we believe that the more efficient we can
make this model, the more access the industry can collectively provide
to basic services. And even beyond basic services, all of the technology
improvements and efficiencies will make it easier for everyone to
access all internet services," Zuckerberg writes. The rough plan focuses on three important levers: 1) Making internet access affordable by making it more efficient to deliver data. 2) Using less data by improving the efficiency of the apps and experiences we use. 3) Helping businesses drive internet access by developing a new model to get people online.
Thinking of picking up an Xbox One console when it launches soon? You’re going to need some games for it.
Microsoft

launch lineups, only about one-third are exclusive to the system. Most
of them come from a handful of publishers - Ubisoft, EA, Activision, and
Microsoft account for 20 titles.
Microsoft previously announced that the $499 console would arrive this November, but has yet to nail down the actual day.

Senator
Adeseye Ogunlewe, a former Nigerian minister for Works and Housing,
expresses his vision on the issue of Igbos deportation:
Lagos
State belongs as much to the ethnic Igbo as to the Yoruba, Ijaw, Hausa,
Fulani, Efik, Idoma, Urhobo, Itshekiri, Edo, and so on who live in it,
pay tax, identify with it, and settle in it. That compact was made the
moment Nigeria became a single nation, and a successor power to the old
principalities who were subdued and who ceded their sovereignty for the
new commonwealth of Nigeria.
It
was pragmatic. The Igbo had the skill and the industry, and Lagos was
the seat of the Federal Government of Nigeria and its major port. The
Igbo have lived in Lagos since the 15th century when the Aro and other
Igbo first settled in good number in a place we now call “Oyingbo” in
the era of Benin and the Portuguese trade.
The
arrival of Dr. Namdi Azikiwe to Lagos in 1937 from Accra after his
studies in the United States, stimulated the political and cultural
environment of Lagos as no other has before or after him. Zik literally
resurrected the wizard of Kirsten hall from political death. Zik
represented Lagos in the western house. The NCNC was the power in Lagos,
and not the Action Group. The Igbo were prominent in the governance of
Lagos in the Lagos City Hall.
The
institutional development of Lagos – the railways, the ports and ship
yards; the education and research facilities; the Banking and
Commodities Exchange, the development of towns like Yaba, Surulere,
Ebutta-Metta, Festac Town, Victoria Island, and now increasing the
Ajah-Lekki axis, and of course, the ghettoes along the Orile-Badagry
axis, have profound Igbo imprimatur.
The
circulation of the image of Lagos is to date best reflected in the
cosmopolitan Igbo imagination of one of the greatest African writers of
the 20th century, Cyprian Ekwensi, a thorough Lagosian if there was any.
Igbo have built industries in Lagos and have been drivers of commerce
and exchange.
Interestingly,
I was born at plot number 8, Okoya Street, Idumagbo-Lagos, while the
Ojukwu families were residing at number one to three on the same street.
I grew up to know the father of Odumegwu Ojukwu. Chimbizie and Azuka
grew up with us on the same street. Even the Chibeze small parking space
at the end of Okoya Street is called Ojukwu.
I
later attended St. Patrick Primary School, Idumagbo, where I had very
amiable classmates of Igbo origin in the persons of Azubike Ezenwa and
Damian, Ihekuna, both now professors and doctors of today. They were
brilliant, resourceful and friendly.
When
we were playing bamboo and Tene Felele at Orikoriko at Onola playing
ground, the Igbo participated actively. In the area of sports, school
football and athletes, Igbo were dominant at Kings College, St. Gregory
school, St. Finbars, Akoka, Igbobi College and Ahmadiyya College, Agege.
Such boys, Njokwu, George Amu, Stephen Keshi, Henry Nwosu, Patrick
Noquapor, Peter Anieke and Sammy Opone were dominant on the field of
football, while Asiodu, Empire Kanu were prominent on the field of
athletics.
Anytime
we went to watch football match at Onikan stadium, my darling team,
Stationery Stores and our adversary team I hated most was the E. C. N,
where the centre forward, Paul Hamilton, the National Team, Fabian the
captain who bit the dust. Our greatest captain was Duru, Oduah
Onyenrekwa, Onyeador Onyeali and Opel, the greatest outside right
Nigeria ever had, Cyril Azuluka. So, during my early life at primary
school, the Igbo were always there and delightful to watch, both in
athletes and on the football field.
When
I listened to radio at that time, both the commentary and drama series,
the Igbo were there for you. The likes of Chris Ndaguba, Ernest
Okwonkwo, Ralph Okpara ‘Alawo Sekiseki the traveller’. The episode will
end with – The script was written by Ralph Okpara and edited by Yemi
Lijadu.
Anytime
I visited where I was born today in Idumagbo at Lagos Island, the
entire place is covered by Igbo traders in their thousands. They were
never troublesome but decent and accommodating. They have virtually
taken over all properties of the indigenes. They succeeded in developing
all our properties, married to most of our children even from the royal
families. There is no single house you will visit without an Igbo man
selling wares there.
So,
who is saying something else? Only the strangers in our midst will not
notice participation of economic development in our state by the Igbos.
Most houses and shops in Lagos Island have been purchased, developed and
occupied by the Igbos. The value of their investments in Lagos Island
alone is in trillions of naira.
Instead
of deporting the Igbos, whose contributions to the development of Lagos
state are immensurable, you must keep on praising and encouraging them
to keep on developing Lagos State. READ MORE: http://news.naij.com/44704.html

Though you can use the data on your mobile, you
wont really enjoy it.
REQUIREMENTS
* MTN Sim
* 100 Naira Daily
* A VPN Provider.
You might have probably heard of various VPN
Providers or softwares that enables you to run BIS
on pc. Be it on MTN, Airtel, or Etisalat and GLO. This
New Finding Helps You Use MTN BBC Daily Plan For
30 Days a Month at a Price of 100 Naira Daily.
With These New Finding, You Will Be having 60GB
Data for A Month Just for 3000 Naira Only..
Now Follow The Steps Below To Get Your Own
60GB
Step 1.
Get a VPN account from any Trusted Provider you
Know. Precisely a Premium Account for Unlimited
Access.
Step 2.
Recharge Your sim with 100 Naira Only
Step 3.
Send a Message with Keyword 'BBCDAY' to 21600.
Your Money will Be Deducted Instantly.
The Good News Behind This New Concept Is That:
You will be given a data Cap of 2GB per day on the
BBCDAY. We all know that the normal monthly data
plan which costs 1500 Naira and is Unlimited But
not necessarily Unlimited because you always gets
disconnected and reconnected after you must have
exhausted upto 4GB or 5GB.
But This BBCDAY once exhausted can Be
reneweded that same day with Just 100 Naira and
this is a plus to heavy downloaders who can
exhaust the 2GB because they can Renew it.
It's Now Time To Calculate How We Arrived At
60GB Per Month:
You Get 2GB each day. 2GB multipleid with 30days
of the month gives you 60GB. 2 x 30=60
Even though MTN Says that the Monthly plan of
1500 naira is Unlimitedly, Its not always certain.
How we arrived at the Price, 3000 Naira/month:
If You Use 100 Naira daily for 1 Month, 30 Days, It
sums upto 3000 Naira that Month 100 x 30=300.
Also, This Will be of benefit to some people who
find it difficult to bring out 1500 Naira at once for
monthly Plan. It is easier to bring out 100 naira
daily...

Flashing a WP8 Nokia Lumia phone
is explained in this tutorial. Thanks to Nokia Care Suite (NCS) you can
flash your phone yourself at home with any valid firmware you like, be
it stock or custom (modified). This is also helpful for flashing a
firmware meant for a different RM on your phone, thus de-brand it and
add additional RM-specific features to it.
Obtaining Firmware Files:
Get Navifirm+ from Attached below.
Open it, select ‘Nokia Care Suite’ from the dropdown menu in top-left.
You’ll see a list of phones on the left. Select your phone.
You’ll
then see the available softwares for it on Nokia’s server. Select the
one you want to install. (REMEMBER : Downgrading may kill your phone, so
always flash either the same firmware version your phone is on, or
newer)
You’ll see the available variants of the update. Select any! and download all the files.
Place
the files in the directory : “C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Application Data\Nokia\Packages\Products\[Your Phone RM]\”
NOTE: Check your phone’s RM on the box label.
Flashing Firmware File
Open it, click on File->Open Product, select your phone.
Right click on the ‘Programming’ button on the left. Click on ‘Recovery’.
Click ‘Update List’, and select the firmware it finds.
Check ‘update automatically’ and ‘USB dead phone flashing’ and click ‘next’.
Follow the on-screen instructions and turn your phone off.
It’ll
say ‘application has lost the connection with your phone’. Turn your
phone on at this point holding the volume-up button and quickly press
‘retry’.
You’ll see the flashing procedure starting and it will be finished within a few minutes and your phone will be ready to use.
NOTE: DO NOT FORMAT
your device's internal storage if your PC asks to do so. Just ignore
the message and go on with the flashing procedure. Formatting will brick
it, and in that it'd be pain to revive it back without taking it to a
Nokia Care centre.
This way you can flash a RM-821 Lumia 920 with
RM-820 software or vice versa. Though phones can be debranded using
this method, do keep in mind that in some cases, due to the change of
basebands, telephony (calls) doesn't work. If that happens, just revert
back to your original firmware.
